Youth Round Table ‘The Balkans in the XXI century – Bulgaria and the Regional Cooperation’

DSC_0249Round table on the Balkan regional cooperation took place at the University of National and World Economy on 13th March. This year the event was named ‘The Balkans in the XXI century – Bulgaria and the Regional Cooperation’. It was organized for a second consecutive year and promises to become a traditional event in the IRRSA’s schedule. During the process of realization of the event IRRSA collaborated with ‘Students Diplomatic Club’, ‘Bulgarian Diplomatic Society’ and ‘National Association for International Relations’. Media support was provided from ‘International Relations’ magazine. DSC_02150The conference started with opening speech given by Prof. Antoaneta Vasileva, head of the ‘International politics and economy’ department at the UNWE. She highlighted that she is following the activities of IRRSA with special interest. Greeting speeches were given also by the members of the jury. It contented from ambassador Lubomir Kiuchukov, director of the ’Institute for economy and international relations’, Filip Bokov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Society, Chavdar Minchev, Executive Director of the ‘National Association for International Relations’ and Boyko Valchev from the ‘International Relations’ Department at the UNWE.DSC_02630 All of the participants presented their reports concerning the future of the Balkans region. Questions were asked by the members of the jury. The author of the first rated report will have the opportunity to present it on expert level at the conference on 18th March. Ilian Iliev’s presentation ‘Does the European union have the capacity to access new member countries from the South Eastern Europe?’ won the first place. 20140313_180549 The reward will be opportunity for publication in the ‘International Relations’ Magazine.
