Brussels1Representatives of the IRRSA were part of a students group which visited the EU Parliament. The visit took place between the 30th of September and the 1st of October. The occasion was an invitation from а Bulgarian member of the EU Parliament Dimitar Stoyanov. The invited students represent different student organizations from the UNWE – IRRSA, Students council, Ego politico, AIESEC and others. The group had the chance to visit the EU Parliament, where it was met by Mr. Stoyanov and some Bulgarian experts, working in the EU institutions. They reviled the processes in the EP to the students also the procedures of decision taking in the EU and the difficulties of defending the Bulgarian stands on the European matters. Brussels The students took part in the so called „Parlaimentarium“– a simulation of the process of enactment of laws in the European institutions. The participants took the roles of Members of the EP, having to think about the voters from their own countries and about the positions of the parliamentary groups, which they represent. The long discussions, the great amounts of information, the different interests, the arguments in the commissions and the lots of changes to the draft laws made the students understand the complicated process of taking decisions in the EU. The Bulgarian group also enjoyed the beautiful parks of Brussels, its sophisticated architecture and the one of a kind taste of the Belgian chocolate.
