On the 16
th of May in Park-hotel „Moskva“ the biggest event of the year for IRRSA, Spring ball of the students from the „International Relations” department in the UNWE, took place. This time, alongside with the end of the academic year, the Association celebrated its 15
th birthday.
There were a lot of official guests, amongst whom H. Excellency Mrs. Vanessa Yvonne Calvert, ambassador of South Africa, Maksim Petrov, an economical attaché by the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Chavdar Minchev, Executive Director of the National Association for International Relations. The event was also attended by IRRSA alumnies as well as a lot of the current students of the „International relations“ department.
The ball started with words greeting and gratitude from the hosts, as well as from the sponsors from Students Council, Sociate General Expressbank, The Institute for Economical Politics, The French Institute in Bulgaria, The Russian Cultural-Information Center „Niton Media“, „KGrip“ and Mr. Martin Karbovski.
Official greetings addressed Prof. Valentin Kisimov, Deputy Rector of the UNWE, Prof. Dinko Dinkov, „International Relations“ department in the UNWE, Mr. Solomon Pasi, ex-minister of the Foreign Affairs and president of the Atlantic club in Bulgaria, Aleksandar Hinev, the first Chairman of the IRRSA, chosen on a general meeting, as well as the current chairman Elizabet Bozhinova.
Members of the Association showed that their talents spread out in a lot of fields. For our guests songs were performed by Violeta Ampova and Lazarina Bistrina.
An important part of the event was awarding the students from the department, who have excellent grades. The awards, generously gifted by our sponsors, were handed out by Elizabet Bozhinova. The teachers from the „International Relations“ department in the UNWE were honored with a plaquette as a sign of gratitude for the help for the activities that the IRRSA initiated in the last 15 years.
The IRRSA crew extended its gratitude to all of its partners and members throughout the years, after which it invited all of the guests on the stage in order to become a part of the symbolic cutting of the cake for the 15
th birthday of IRRSA.
